Hi Krag
I am out to provoke a bit of a response to my question above!
Having signed nearly every petition i can (how many times does someone need to object to something??) I am coming to the conclusion that despite the wonderful efforts of KRAG, do the people of kitkby really care what happens?? we see a number of topics on the site with lots and lots of views but no real views about the given topic, so i throw down a challenge to the readers to post a reply/view of the topic question.

I am also hearing through various sources that the planning application has been thrown out/withdrawn, can anyone shed light on this latest rumour?
Cheers
morty

As an Evertonian i'm a bit disapointed to see inactivity on this forum.

Just confirms what I already knew from a few RS relatives of mine scattered around Southdene/Westvale - they've been telling me most people couldnt give a hoot! And that many welcome it.

In response to 'morty1562' - I guess the fact that all of EFC, Tesco and KMBC are still hellbent on persuing this nightmare (as I see it as an outsider) of the retail/stadium park a month after the 'rumour' suggests the rumour was a bit bullshit.

hi, im a kirkby resident and im new to the group..not just as a response to the tesco/everton situation, but to offer any information i have regarding the governments sideing with big business in numerous situations like this.

this comes from the top down, and its not as if its a case of removing the labour government and voting another party in because we hasve gotton to the state where at the end of the day mainstream politics has become two sides to the same coin of capatalism

for example is anyone aware that the government basically allowed mobile phone companies to charge whatever extortionate prices they wanted regardless of how little they reflected the cost of there service, eg the 10p you pay per text results in 1000% profit for the network (thats 1 text)

the same government is handing over our sovirengety to the Federal super state of the EU without even giving us a vote on the matter (this comes less than 2 weeks after the irish overwhelemingly voted NO)

this co-incidently is where our council taxes go to by the way, and also where via the national level of government is where local councils get their directives from, a faceless organization of unelected beurocrats (anyone know who there MEP is ?)

We have seen youth clubs closed, youth services been cut and tell me how many CCTV cameras are there in say northwood (must have cost a fair bit)

there have been countless demonstrations about sonae but unfourtunatly again the government dosent give a shit about the plebs, just the company execs

their was a site online called the kirkby times...i dont know the guy who ran it but its worth checking out, even if it hasnt been updated in 2 or 3 years

also if anyone is on facebook, then i have got a group up on their dealing with issues that our mainstream media (government/capitalist propaganda- dumbing down mechanism for the working classes) chooses to ignore so i have quite a few documentaries etc that may be of interest to people

The bottom line is that rather than destracting the group from its main objectives, i would like to be able to utilize it for awakening people to focus on what is causing the things that impact on their lives...fuel price rises, bills, etc because im sure im not the only person who gets annoyed that despite working their arse off, strugles to pay bills to companies who make 125bn profits, has to brath in polluted air because of companies plonked on our doorsteps despite opposition, has to eat food full of artificial chemicals etc
